What is Object Oriented Database Management System (OODBMS)? Explain briefly?

The OODBMS explain by the following points.

  • It is Object based Database system.
  • It is oriented by Oops concept which is stands for Object oriented programming system.
  • In this database able to create classes, object and data structure etc.
  • It also follows hierarchical database model concept in the pictorial representation.
  • In the database model parent classes and child classes are available in the data model.
  • In this model the solid lines are represents classes and sub classes link together.
  • In this model the dotted lines are represents attributes of classes.
  • This database concept follows the polymorphism and inheritance.


Can an object oriented database model be complex to create?

Yes, it is true that the OODBMS is a complex design to provide a better model than the other database model to provide information and save the information into the design of the database model of the object.

the image diagram shows the object which has 3 coordinates that describes it is difficult to design the object and also database model can be difficult to design according to the 3d objects.

It is used for scientific calculation for super computer and other smaller used for application software development and the game development also that process object designed in the graphics.
The OODBMS is to create a complex design but it is better to understand and implement the attributes to provide information and giving functionality once it is developed then it gives better experience to learn and study about the object such as:- scientist develop the object as planets for study with them and calculate for researching on them.
