Explain the functions of operating system in computer?

There are some various points to remember many functions of operating system.

1. Operating system is used for interact between users and hardware interfaces.

2. It is provides environment to install the application software.

3. The interface of the operating system enables a user to use hardware resources efficiently.

4. It provides one or more job applications.

5. A single user use to operating system called single-user-operating system and sometime users can use multiple purposes using system called multi-user operating system.

6. It is used as single tasking at a time can execute single task.

7. It is also used as multi-tasking at a time can executes multi-tasks.

8. It is multi programing software.

9. The operating system has manages so many management such as Processor management, Memory Management, Input / Output management and File management.

10. It has Scheduling for jobs priority. Here the jobs are called an application in the operating system to be executes and to perform for the users.

11. It has time sharing system for compiler, assembler, utility program and other software and programs.

12. It has security management to secure your system and other useful information by the login system or other tools uses for secures your system.

13. It can also manage your data, information, programs and software.

14. It maintains internal time clock system and log system.


Can the operating system process the database on the computer?

Yes, the operating system is used to process the database file to provide the technique that can apply on the database files such as:- define the database file, manipulate the database file also the information and the database can be controlled from the operating system using the security option to apply on the file.
