Main Component of PC system

Power switch 

Depending on the model, the power switch is located either in the front or at the side of the system unit and is used to switch the system ON and OFF.

The power switch button is connected to the power connectors to provide the current passes through the power connector and then the motherboard gets a supply of power to supply also other installed and connected devices such as ram, rom, storage device, permanent memory, smps etc. it is happened when the user on the ups and then press the power button and on the cpu cabinet of the desktop computer system.


Power switch Depending on the model, the power switch is located either in the front or at the side of the system unit and is used to switch the system ON and OFF.

"The figure above shows the diagram of power connectors connected through the pins that are available on the motherboard or PCB (Printed Circuit Board) of the desktop computer system cabinet of the CPU".


Power connectors available pins and mentioned where the number is used to connect on the motherboard that means the motherboard has a name to connect the power connectors printed on the board during the manufacturing work on the motherboard and that is why it is called the printed circuit board or PCB of the computer system.


Reset Button 

The Reset button can be used to restart the PC without switching off the main power supply. However, it is advisable to use this switch as a last option when the PC hangs and does not accept a command from the keyboard. When you restart the PC, it will lose all the information currently stored in its memory.

Reset button is used to removes the data which is currently used in the computer system and the end user working on the particular application software cannot be save it is just removed from the memory, the memory is known as temporary memory RAM to removes the data and files after reset pressing the button from the CPU cabinet of the desktop computer system.


Reset Button The Reset button can be used to restart the PC without switching off the main power supply.


The reset button is working as the restart button without power switching off then on and it is just you can see it automatically restart the computer system.

The temporary memory removes all the file such as if you are working on the application software and the application software provides the space using the RAM to type the text in the file but it is not saved on the permanent memory then it will be removed from the RAM because the RAM is temporary memory of the computer system.


Turbo Switch 

If you are using a PC that has a different speed of operation, you will find a Turbo switch changes the speed from a low value to a high or vice versa to reduce or increase a computer's speed for ensuring software compatibility. On the other hand, modern programs take into account the computer's speed and adjust themselves accordingly. Hence, although the Turbo button is present, some modern computers have completely disabled this function.

Indicator Lights

Computer unit may have colored lights to indicate the working of the PC. These lights also glow whenever data is recorded onto or read from the floppy. or hard disk.

Floppy Drives

Your PC will have one slot fitted with a floppy drive. Floppy drive is used for storing data or for reading data from a floppy disk.

Can a computer remove data from RAM after a restart?

A computer removes data from RAM after restarting the computer system.

The computer refreshes the ram to clear it to store new data into the RAM.

The RAM is a temporary memory to store only for temporarily used on the computer for programs running into the computer and stores a program file in RAM available space.

The RAM is removed from their stored data because it is not a permanent and not a non-volatile memory. It is a volatile memory which only temporarily stores the program file which can be used again in the ram after turning on a computer using the same application software.
