There are some points on the user data protection and privacy following below here:-

  1. The user needs to protect the data because the data is necessary to protect from the unknown user that they can misuses the user data.

  2. The user data needs to apply some security layer on the file which is connected to the application software to provide information which has a value for the users.

  3. The user needs to apply the password over the file open into the application software. That means the user can open only when the user enters the correct password before opening the file into the application software.

  4. The user applies the username and password verification on the application software in the mobile device to open their user account on the smartphone and the user can access the files and saved database such as:- personal database and official database from the smartphone on the web application software.

  5. The smartphone device also has privacy protection provided to the user when the user needs to apply some techniques given on the operating system of the smartphone such as:- graphical patterns, code verification, face Identification etc. to unlock the smartphone to use their private services available on the smartphone device.

Examples of data privacy and user data protection on the smartphone devices:-

  • User can protect data from the hiding files and changes their name of file
  • User can protect files through the application software as the file is generated from application and applied security using password before open the file
  • The user can protect the personal database using the user account and apply the username and password over the user account on the website
  • The user protect data based on object based verification or biometric data verification system

Let’s discuss the points listed above about the computer system and mobile data privacy related to the topic of “Discuss the different points on the Protecting User Data and Privacy in mobile security?” explanation following below here:

Here are some other points related to the user data privacy and protection of data on the smartphone devices following below here:-

User can protect data from the hiding files and changes their name of file

  1. The user protects data from hiding the files from the storage device that appears on the file manager and the file can be renamed from the file manager application to show the difference but the user needs to remember that the file has changed their name to make it difficult to find from another user.

  2. The user can hide the file from the application software using the hiding option to hide and disappear the file that shows on the file manager and it will not show when the user applies the hide option on the selected file on the smartphone device using the application software to protect the file database and information.

Users can protect their data by hiding files and changing file names, making it difficult for unauthorized individuals to locate or access sensitive information. Hiding files involves using built-in operating system features, such as marking files as hidden in Windows or using a dot (.) before the filename in Linux and macOS. This prevents the files from appearing in regular directory views unless specific settings are changed. Additionally, renaming files with misleading or less obvious names can reduce the chances of them being easily discovered. For example, a confidential document can be renamed with a generic or unrelated title, making it less suspicious. Some users also store files within deep subfolders or inside system directories to add an extra layer of obscurity. However, while these methods provide basic protection, they should be combined with stronger security measures like encryption and password protection to ensure comprehensive data safety.

User can protect files through the application software as the file is generated from application and applied security using password before open the file

  1. The user protects files through the application using the password feature applied on the file which is selected on the application software to apply the password before the file is opened on the application software or runs the file in the application.

  2. The file cannot be display the data if the password is incorrect to entered into the password section to verify the correct password value in the file to open and see the information but it will not shows the information and hidden from the unknown user if the user applied the password technique on the file over the open a file on the application software.

  3. Even if the unknown user has cracked the password there is another security layer that applies. Also the user only can see the data and not allow the editing work; the unknown is available to edit option when another password protected is applied on the file.

Users can protect their files using application software that allows them to apply password protection before accessing the file. Many applications, such as Microsoft Office, WinRAR, and PDF editors, offer built-in encryption features that enable users to set a password while saving or compressing a file. This ensures that only authorized individuals with the correct password can open or modify the content. Additionally, some advanced applications use strong encryption algorithms, such as AES (Advanced Encryption Standard), to enhance security and prevent unauthorized access. By applying password protection, users can safeguard sensitive documents, financial records, and personal files from cyber threats, unauthorized access, and data breaches. However, it is crucial to use strong and unique passwords, store them securely, and avoid sharing them carelessly to maintain the effectiveness of this security measure.

The user can protect the personal database using the user account and apply the username and password over the user account on the website

  1. The user can apply the username and password verification on the user account on the web application to protect the user data such as:- personal database or official database connected to the user account of the end user on the web application software.

  2. The username and password is necessary to apply on the user account because both are strong to guess and passwords need to apply the strong and difficult to crack from the other unknown user on the user account.

  3. The username/password is based on the relational database model which is used to apply using the data control language of the SQL on the RDBMS for the web application software to provide the protection of the user account to protect the personal database such as:- a user uploaded some images which is personal and protected from the others.

Users can protect their personal database by creating a secure user account on a website and applying a username and password for authentication. This ensures that only authorized users can access and manage the database. Websites and online platforms implement security measures such as password hashing, encryption, and multi-factor authentication (MFA) to enhance protection against unauthorized access. By using strong and unique passwords, users can prevent brute force attacks and data breaches. Additionally, many websites offer role-based access control (RBAC), allowing users to set permissions and restrict access to sensitive data. Regularly updating passwords and enabling security features like account activity monitoring and email alerts can further enhance protection. While securing a personal database with a username and password is essential, users should also be cautious of phishing attacks and ensure they use reputable websites with SSL encryption for secure communication.

The user protect data based on object based verification or biometric data verification system

  1. The user uses the object based verification system which is based on the imagery pattern of the finger scanner which takes input value from the finger scanner device to the application software for special requirement to verify the user account on the web application software to open or access the user account.

  2. Similarly, the hand pattern is also based on the imagery pattern recorded and saved into the object based file to verify the data during the verification process on the web application to open the user account or access the user account on the web application software.

  3. Another way to use the voice recognition such as:- asking a question to speak the user’s voice to say the correct matching answer of the question and face ID to verify the movement of face or still face verification process on the web application over the user account accessing in the security model.

Users can protect their data using object-based verification or biometric data verification systems, which provide advanced security beyond traditional passwords. Object-based verification involves using physical devices such as smart cards, USB security keys, or hardware tokens that generate one-time passwords (OTP) to authenticate users. This ensures that access is granted only if the correct physical object is present. On the other hand, biometric verification relies on unique biological traits like fingerprints, facial recognition, iris scans, or voice patterns to authenticate users. Since biometric data is unique to each individual, it significantly reduces the risk of unauthorized access. Many modern smartphones, laptops, and secure systems integrate biometric authentication to enhance security while offering convenience. However, to ensure maximum protection, biometric data should be securely stored and encrypted to prevent misuse, and multi-layered authentication methods should be used to strengthen overall security.
